Made to Measure Temperature Solutions from TME

Saturday, 20 April 2013 15:41:31 Europe/London

Innovative design, a wide knowledge of temperature applications and a streamlined approach to manufacturing – these are the three elements that put TME at the forefront of handheld temperature monitoring. The company offers product design, manufacture and servicing to all sectors, including a proven track record with leading retailers like Morrison’s, Birds Eye and Aldi.

From the monitoring of shop floor essentials like chiller cabinets, freezers and hot food counters to in-store bakeries and cafes, warehousing, storage and delivery, TME has the products and expertise required.

For 20 years, TME has consistently demonstrated a customer-led approach. “There’s no room for one size fits all,” says Tom. “Whether we’re designing new products or developing a bespoke servicing model, getting to grips with the detailed application comes first. Flexible solutions that really work on the ground are best.”

Strong foundations

TME’s confident approach is founded on its strong design and manufacturing capability which enables the company to deliver on both quality and value for money. Quality, functional design ensures long-lasting performance, with an emphasis on speed and accuracy. All TME thermometers and thermocouples are fast response, delivering a system accuracy of at least +/- 0.5°C - vital for satisfying food safety regulations and HACCP legislation. Tight controls on sourcing and manufacturing methods also provide the customer with savings. “A TME solution is unlikely to be the most expensive one.”

Added value

Special design features add further value. On the groundbreaking MM2000 range, TME were the first in the industry to deliver IP67 waterproof casings and thermoplastic ‘boots’ as standard. It uses solid, encapsulated probe handles and it stocks a huge variety of dishwasher-safe thermocouples for many applications.

TME also has a reputation for innovative solutions. The SOLO - a handy pocket thermometer popular with caterers - is known for its ergonomic display panel, inexpensive anti-contamination features and front-of-house appeal. Purpose-built wall-mount holders deliver flexible temperature workstations both in the supermarket and on the production line; and the new plug-in style food simulant cleverly mimics refrigerated food temperature without trailing wires.

Service and repair

TME’s service and repair contracts are second to none. Instruments are manufactured in the UK, on site, enabling complete control over quality of components and assembly, and an excellent service back-up. TME is the only company in the industry to offer a life-time flat-rate repair charge on all its instruments. Customers with multiple retail outlets can enjoy even greater security by upgrading to a next-day replacement service. This is an attractive option for large operations, seeking to minimise the impact of break-downs including product waste, lost revenue and the risk of serious food safety infringements.

Breaking new ground

TME’s design team is always one step ahead, developing new capabilities. The MM7000 ThermoBar Scan - a handheld thermometer with integral barcode reader and Bluetooth - is set to transform the industry. This revolutionary device has a unique portable logging capability: to record not only temperature, time and date but also identity - eliminating paper records and reducing double handling of data. Combining barcode and Bluetooth technologies in one easy-to-use device, it can monitor any product, production menu or appliance, storing up to 1,000 readings before downloading the data to PC, mobile phone or PDA.

How does it work?

Assign a barcode to whatever item you are monitoring by using existing manufacturers’ barcodes or creating new codes free on-line. The device is supplied with free software which ‘translates’ each barcode into words, so you can easily identify and respond to alerts on ‘out of temperature’ products or appliances like chillers, freezers and ovens. The device is compatible with conventional plug-in probes, most PDAs and all commonly used database systems.

“The MM7000 provides the best proof of due diligence yet, from delivery and storage to shop floor climate control and in-store catering. With just one device you can monitor an entire operation – and all without breaking the bank!”
