Description
KS16 K Type Ribbon Surface Probe – ideal for high temperature surface measurement
Features
• Thermocouple Type - K
• Accuracy - Class I (±1.5°C ±0.25%)
• Measurement Range: -50 to 350°C
• Stem Length – 110mm
• Stem diameter – 10mm at tip
• Cable Length - 2 meters
• Plug Type - Moulded 2 pin
• Slightly slower response than KS01 but with stronger construction
Note: This probe only requires light pressure to give a true reading and is suitable for smooth, clean surfaces.
If used on an uneven surface, there is a risk that the band will be weakened and deformed.
Requires: A digital thermocouple thermometer.
• For General Use we recommend the TME MM2000 Digital Handheld Thermocouple Thermometer
• For Legionella Use we recommend the TME MM2008 Digital Handheld with Integral Timer
• For Next Generation Bar Code Scanning Temperature Monitoring we recommend the TME MM7000-2D ThermoBarScan Thermometer

What is the difference between a thermometer and a probe?Question by: admin on 2018-09-05 11:51:38
Simply put, the thermometer is the ‘box’, where you will see a screen that displays measurements, and the probe is the thing connected to it. So the probe (or sensor), senses the temperature and sends a signal to the thermometer, which translates it into a figure (usually °C or °F) and displays it. Probes can come in many different varieties which are designed to suit a specific application (such as needle probes, flat food probes, air probes etc). Thermometers, too, can have many different applications in addition to displaying a temperature reading. Some thermometers have a hold function, or can calibrate other thermometers, scan barcodes or wirelessly send temperature readings to other electronic equipment such as PCs or PDAs.

What probes will I need for water temperature testing?Question by: admin on 2018-06-20 13:19:29
You will need an immersion probe for running water (KM03), and a surface probe for pipe surface temperatures (KS07). Alternatively, choose one of our excellent dual probes which do both Immersion and surface temperatures (KS20-S, KS01-S, BSKS01-S, or KS16-S). For areas that are difficult to access - ie valves or pipes, or high-traffic areas, such as school corridors, we recommend the TCWALLPORT System. This incorporates the use of fine wire probes (KA01) and a compact temperature monitoring point known as the TCWALLPORT

I regularly need to replace my thermometers and probes, can I set up a service contract to cover the cost?Question by: admin on 2018-06-18 12:41:03
If you have purchased a large number of TME thermometers/probes, and are likely to have a high turnover of breakages, we offer a swap service which charges a set monthly rate in return for an unlimited number of swaps. We can offer this on a next day basis. If you are interested in the swap system, please phone or email TME for advice on how best to set it up.

What is the warranty on my probe?Question by: admin on 2018-06-18 10:51:17
TME probes do not come with a warranty, however, if there is a fault in our manufacturing process we will of course replace for free.

Can I calibrate a probe?Question by: admin on 2018-06-15 13:58:39
Yes. We can produce a calibration certificate for a probe to either the four standard points (for food applications: -20, 0, +20 & 80 C, for Legionella applications: 0, 20, 55 & 100 C) or to four points of your choosing. Please note: for probes being returned to us for calibration, whilst it is possible to produce a certificate for a probe, we will not be able to adjust any errors found during the test.
