How Safe Is Your Thermometer?

Saturday, 20 April 2013 20:21:38 Europe/London

If your run a successful business, you may already use a food thermometer to make sure your food is cooked properly.  You may believe you’ve got things covered.  But did you know that many thermometers sold in the UK are just not accurate enough?  In other words they are not food safe.

Current safety standards require that food thermometers have an accuracy of ±0.5 °C (between 0°-5°C).  Many popular models fall short, making them particularly unsuitable for fast food where there is a higher risk of undercooked food.  Businesses in the know are now turning to more accurate thermometers like the SOLO Thermometer from TM Electronics

At just £45, the SOLO is both food accurate and affordable, reducing risk and helping keep costs down.  It also has a unique easy-view display (for left or right-hand use), and a fast response fold-away probe.  An adjustable colour band helps you prevent cross contamination – no need to buy all those different-colour models which just increase your spend!

TM Electronics has designed and manufactured temperature equipment for almost 20 years, with a reputation for technical innovation and quality.  We supply more than 600 different products, and also offer an inexpensive calibration and repair service.
